I really loved my afternoon with Supamas and Ryan. These two are so sweet, and their excitement and giddiness just rubbed off on me! We spent the afternoon on Coronado Island, visiting different areas, and finally ending up at the beach. Here’s a little peak into our session ~

Congratulations to Ryan and Minna on their recent engagement! It was a pleasure meeting these two this week for an engagement session. What a sincerely sweet couple they are, and a true pleasure to photograph!

Engagement Session with Greg & Jenny

February 20th, 2012 | Posted by Kate Auda in Engagements - (0 Comments)

I had an amazingly beautiful afternoon with Jenny and Greg in Mission Trails. It was one of those summery days San Diego gets in the middle of winter, and this very sweet couple was just as enjoyable as the spot they chose to do their engagement session. The two will be getting married this summer at the beach, so they chose a more rustic spot for their engagement photos. Here is a look at some of my favorites from that afternoon ~

The Blumenthal Family

February 15th, 2012 | Posted by Kate Auda in Portraits - (0 Comments)

Recently, I had a great session at the park with the Blumenthal family! Over the course of several months, I have had the pleasure of getting to know the Blumenthal’s, as well as some of their extended family members through an event I photograph monthly. So when they approached me for some family portraits, I knew we would all have a great afternoon together. Their little boy is just a-d-0-r-a-b-l-e, and while he may have been a little tired that day, I think he still enjoyed being at the park on one of those beautiful, southern California days we are so lucky to have this time of year! So, here is a look into our portrait session ~Thank you Blumenthal family! It was such a pleasure working with you!

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

December 21st, 2011 | Posted by Kate Auda in Portraits - (0 Comments)

This year brought Michael and I so many incredible experiences to be thankful for. We began this year with our honeymoon — a six week trip through South East Asia, which inspired us as photographers as well as individuals. Since our return, we have put more concentration into our careers, with a focus on building relationships in San Diego and opening the door for more networking opportunities. We have had the pleasure of photographing some beautiful weddings, unique engagement sessions, and fun families this year. However, none of this would mean as much as it does without the love and support from our families and friends, which brings me to our final blog post of this year: the triplets!!!

I recently photographed the very talented (and fellow photographer) Jaime Murray and her husband in Mission Trails. We experienced one of those amazing fall days that San Diego has to offer — it was warm, sunny, and the few trees that change color were in full swing. It was a perfect day to kick off this holiday season! So thank you Jaime & Matt for a fun photo session in one of my favorite hiking spots in San Diego!

The best subjects to photograph are always of the ones we LOVE, which brings me to this most recent blog post: Stephanie & Dan. Stephanie has been a good friend of mine for years, or rather, during the most important years — high school and beyond. Recently, Michael and I made a trip back to Colorado to celebrate Stephanie and Dan’s engagement, and of course, while we were there we had to photograph these two! It had been ages since I had been back to the Boulder area, and I cannot express how great it felt to be there! So, in honor of Stephanie’s birthday month (because this blog post is WAY overdue, and I happen to believe birthday’s should be celebrated for longer than a day!), here is a look into their engagement session, located on a friend’s farm in north Boulder. Stephanie and Dan, we wish you JOY and a world of LOVE this holiday season! Congratulations on your engagement! We are beyond HAPPY for you both! …and Happy Birthday!

Michael and I love photographing engagement sessions for so many reasons. Firstly, engagement sessions really allow us to spend some quality time with our brides and grooms and get to know them a bit. Not to mention, it gives our couples a chance to relax and not think too much about all the things they have going on with their work and upcoming wedding. We play. We laugh. We explore. Which is why I was so excited when Keith and Mauricia asked if we could go to a graffiti park and then explore downtown! A graffiti park?! Of course! We had a great time with these two, and are so excited for their wedding next year! Congratulations Keith & Mauricia! We know this next year is going to be an amazing time for you both!

Stephie & Jamey, a Poway Wedding

On a beautiful October day, Stephie and Jamey married at the Old Poway Park in San Diego. Every detail and color came together to create a beautiful and romantic wedding day for this amazing couple. I absolutely loved the way Stephie incorporated deep reds and different textures throughout all the details. She even had a broach bouquet! Congratulations Stephie and Jamey! We wish you happiness, joy and comfort! Thank you for having us be a part of this special occasion!

This summer Michael and I were so excited to photograph Michael and Claudia’s Santa Barbara destination wedding.  The couple, who currently live on the east coast, opted for a beach ceremony, followed by an enchanting reception at the Cabrillo Beach Pavilion. While the morning fog lingered a little longer than usual, the sun broke through just in time to warm the sand before the ceremony and provide us with beautiful light to photograph this wonderful couple.

Congratulations to Michael and Claudia!! We wish you many years of love and happiness!
